“There’s a fine fine line between love and a waste of time” - Kate Monster, Avenue Q

How the podcast got started.

As so many creative projects, Take Me or Leave Me started because I need something to keep me sane through the Covid-19 lockdown. I had been toying with the idea of starting a podcast for a while before and now I had absolutely no excuse. So I forced some friends to get involved and I spent all the evenings that I was sat in my flat, researching and finally I was ready to go, and here we are.

Take Me or Leave Me is a podcast about the fine line between failure and success in musical theater. I love rooting for the underdog and there are so many musical underdogs out there. I wanted to take some time to research and learn about the less successful musicals and the people who make them. This podcast is here to celebrate them and also have a giggle or too along the way.

Meet the host.

Zoë Thomas-Webb grew up in the theatre, spending summer holidays in rehearsals and costume fittings with her mother and grandmother. Then at home her actor grandfather would educate her in all the MGM movie musicals.

Following in the family business, Zoë left school and went straight into a costume department. She has graced the backstage of the National Theatre, The Young Vic and The Royal Opera House. She currently is part of the Hamilton costume team and enjoys “singing” along on matinee days, she takes the bass parts.

She is also the Co Artistic Director of Putney Arts Theatre and has written and directed various shows both there and for the various other London fringe venues.

She lives in London with her partner Charlie and their daughter Dorothy. They are all desperate for a pet, currently two votes for a dog, one vote for cat. This is her first podcast, obviously.
